Jonas M. Hwang
Associate Attorney
Jonas M. Hwang focuses his practice primarily on divorce and family law. Mr. Hwang counsels his clients on a wide range of issues, including, but not limited to, allocation of parental responsibilities, parenting time, child support, maintenance, division of property, complex financial issues, domestic violence, post-divorce issues, and other family-related matters.
Mr. Hwang earned his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University. He attended DePaul University College of Law, where, in addition to his J.D., Mr. Hwang earned a certificate in family law and was awarded the Chancellor’s Award for Service. While in law school, he served as the Vice-President of the Child and Family Law Association and externed for the Honorable Judge Pamela E. Loza. He continues to serve on the DePaul Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center Advisory Board.

Mr. Hwang understands that every person has a unique background and story. As a Korean-American with immigrant parents and growing up with two cultures, he also understands that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to finding solutions. His diverse employment history has developed a varied skill set, and he has knowledge across many areas, including business, technology, fitness, the military, pop culture, and more.
Speaking English, Korean, and French allows him to work with a wider audience. Mr. Hwang believes in strong communication and a strong work ethic. He understands that family law proceedings can be an emotional roller coaster, and he draws on all his skills to support his clients and pursue resolutions that advance their short- and long-term goals.
