Gloria E. Block, Principal & Founder of Block | Reid, began her legal career as a prosecutor in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, where she successfully prosecuted hundreds of cases. Throughout her career, she has assisted thousands of clients in negotiating and litigating complex family law matters. She is a skilled and experienced trial attorney. Judges and counsel regularly appoint her to serve as a Guardian ad Litem and Child Representative in complex custody and parenting time disputes.
Gloria is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. She earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. In addition to her law practice, Gloria is a frequent and sought-after speaker, lecturer, and author, and has served as an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University School of Law. She has also served as an arbitrator for the Cook County Bar Association and as an elected member of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Family Law Section Council.

Gloria has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer multiple times and has been repeatedly named among the Top 100 attorneys in Illinois and the Top 50 women attorneys. She has also been recognized as a Leading Lawyer and has received the Top Women in Law award from Law Bulletin Media.
Gloria is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association, Decalogue Society of Lawyers, and Forensic Forum. Gloria’s greatest accomplishment is raising her three wonderful children.
