Gabriela O. Asrow Celebrates 10 Years with Block | Reid
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — Block | Reid is proud to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Managing Partner Gabriela O. Asrow with the firm. Ms. Asrow joined the practice, then known as Hoffenberg & Block, LLC, in the spring of 2016. A decade later, she stands as one of the firm's most accomplished advocates.
Ms. Asrow counsels clients across a wide range of divorce and parentage matters. Her work includes allocation of parental responsibilities, child support, parenting time, relocation, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, property division, maintenance, and domestic violence cases.
She is known for a multi-faceted approach that balances settlement and litigation. She advocates tirelessly for her clients' interests and goals. When necessary, she takes an aggressive stance in litigation. She also maintains a sensible position when negotiating settlement agreements.
Ms. Asrow's milestone arrives alongside fresh recognition. She was named to both Super Lawyers and Leading Lawyers in 2026, honors that reflect her standing among peers in the Illinois family law community.
Reflecting on the anniversary, Ms. Asrow expressed gratitude for the colleagues, mentors, and clients who shaped her career. "Reaching this milestone feels both hard-earned and deeply gratifying," she said. She credited the late Alan Hoffenberg, whom she misses dearly, along with Gloria Block, her role model and the matriarch of the firm family, and Russell Reid, the firm's fearless and bold leader.
"Their guidance, trust, and encouragement helped shape me into the attorney I am today," she said. She described herself as a fierce litigator, adept at the mediation and collaborative processes, and a dedicated advocate for her child clients.
Ms. Asrow received her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2014. She earned a certificate in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution and is a certified mediator, having completed extensive training through the Chicago Center for Conflict Resolution. She is also certified in collaborative divorce. In addition, she is a certified guardian ad litem and parenting coordinator in Cook County, Illinois. As an advocate for victims of domestic violence, she volunteers with SHALVA as a member of the Legal Committee.
Looking ahead, Ms. Asrow remains energized by the road in front of her. "I'm proud of everything I have accomplished so far, and I am excited for what's ahead," she said. "Here's to the next 10 years."
